The 4th, A Special Visit, & Swimming With Friends

This picture really has nothing to do with any of the events I'm posting about, but I couldn't resist including it. Although Emma is very mobile these days, she still enjoys her Jumperoo for short periods of time. I can put her in it while I run take a shower and things like that. The other day I heard her fussing to get out. When I came to rescue her she was sound asleep! On the 4th, we went to the McClain's (friends from church) to eat and do fireworks! Aubrie is FINALLY letting me put her hair in ponytails again (for a while she wouldn't hear of it and I chose to pick my battles about it). I decided to do pigtails and I was trying to get a good picture of them, but this was it.
She had fun playing with Valerie's nephew when we got there.
Trying to get her to smile! =)
Can you see Aubrie? Hiding from the camera!

"Okay, mom, but ONLY one!"
Emma was wishin' she was in the water too!
It felt better inside! She could move around a lot more!
Not sure what this face is about!
Back outside, Aubrie was about to have her first experience with some "kid friendly" fireworks!
"Uncle" Paul giving everyone instructions.
Emma with her Daddy!
Have I ever mentioned that I married the most wonderful man in the world!? He is sooo good to me and is an incredible father to his 3 little girls! These next 3 are much the same, but I couldn't make up my mind which one to post! He is showing her how to pop those little champagne bottles that have confetti in them.
Not sure what you call these things - "pop rocks" or something. You throw them on the ground and they make a popping sound. She had lots of fun with those.
But the favorite were ofcourse the SPARKLERS!
"WOW"
When it got dark, Paul put on his wonderful show that he does every year! The girls enjoyed it so much!
Emma wasn't sure at the very beginning!
But then she was mesmerized!
"Did yall see that?"
Both girls watched from Gran Gran's lap!
Aubrie said, "Hooray for fireworks!"
Not the picture I intended since Emma wouldn't sit still and the light is in the way of Aunt Lacey, but the thought was nice anyway. Last weekend our favorite aunt and uncle came to visit! We had lunch with them on Saturday and went to visit Toots & Pop (my grandparents).
Here's a better one!
Emma wanted to taste Toots' coffee table and rearrange all the decorations on it too!

Aubrie hiding from the camera in her favorite chair.
She loves to play their piano when we visit. But when I tried to take her picture doing it....she closed the lid. I have no idea where she is getting this stubborness!!! HA!
So...when she started playing again, I crawled on the floor and came around the couch to try and get a shot of her playing. She caught me though! This piano is very special. It used to be at my parents' house. When our house blew away in the 1982 tornado, the piano did not have ONE scratch on it. It even had a flower arrangement sitting on top of it that was not damaged at all. Crazy, huh?
Then we had to test out the organ. It has a special scratch on it that I left with my shoe buckle when I was about Aubrie's age!
On Tuesday we went swimming at Club Kerby with Tammy, Tyler, Rachel, Roselyn, Modgie, Jack, & Kate. Here is Roselyn playing in the water.
Modgie brought their slide over and the kids made a fun waterslide out of it.
We had a fun picnic too!
Tyler enjoying his lunch.
Aubrie...not so much.
Roselyn with her ranch dressing.....she used the carrot only for dipping purposes!!!

I wish the summer would slow down...we are having WAY too much fun and going back to school is going to be so hard on me and the kids!

Looks like loads of fun! Did Rachel tell you I made a fool of myself and introduced myself and Nate to her? Oh yea, lovely! I told her how much Nate likes to watch Roselyns videos on their blog. Im sure she has a restraining order now!! ;)
