I Love My Job!!!!!

I know you would probably rather see pics of my girls, but I thought it was about time to post some pics of my kids away from home - my music kids from school. I teach music grades 1-5. This is my 3rd year to do this and I have definitely found what I love to do! Michael asked me the other day if I missed being in the regular classroom (which I did for 4 years) and I said NOT IN THE LEAST!!! Besides teaching 5 classes a day, I do 4 programs a year (my favorite part). Last week was the 1st graders turn to perform and this year they did a musical called
"Rock & Roll Forever"
Here are some pics of my little Elvis singin' Blue Suede Shoes! He was so cute!

The Beatles also came to town!

And you can't have a 50's Rock & Roll show without some poodle girls!
Several weeks ago, we had a "pie throwing contest" for the top readers in each grade! I volunteered to have a pie thrown at me. We look like the flying nuns with these Wal-mart sacs on our heads!!! These are my school buds - Sabrina on the left and Penny on the right.

The whole fearless gang - Julie, Charlotte, me, Eveline, Penny, & Sabrina
After the fact - yep! That second grader got me good!

Don't ya just love the yellow slickers!?

Horses, Sisters, & Finally a Tooth!!!

Saturday we had a blast! We went to our church's "Spring Fling" for the kids at a family's ranch and rode horses, had a hayride, ate hot dogs and just had a wonderful evening of fellowship! Aubrie LOVED the horses! Here she is with Jordan, whom I was teasing about the fact that it wasn't long ago that she was Aubrie's age and I was her age!!! Wow! How time flies!
She wanted to ride the miniature horse too. Look how Gibson had a death grip on her! It wasn't 5 seconds after I took this picture that they were both on the ground. I guess Gibson lost his balance and took her with him! They both cried for a minute, but after 30 minutes Aubrie was begging to get back on - the "mama" horse as she called the grown ones! I think she was a little gun shy of the mini after the fall!
I took this picture of the sunset as we were leaving. You can't see it, but there is a pond too! It was absolutely breathtaking and Michael and I both were wishing that we could just pick up our house in town and sit it right here!!! God's beautiful creation never ceases to amaze me!!!
These horses were right up Michael's alley as he used to be a "cowboy" in highschool!!!

Hold on tight Aubrie!
Kaitlyn & Abby

Kaitlyn & Jace

Mr. Daniel

Ofcourse Emma was watching from the sidelines again, but was having a great time herself! This is a new favorite picture of mine!
Catching up with her two friends Addison & Anna Claire!

Yesterday morning the girls and I had a "girly" time. Kaitlyn & Aubrie got all dressed up in their fancy dress up clothes and I painted their nails!!!

Another attempt of a shot of the McCarter girls. I have faith that one day they will all three cooperate at the same time!
Aubrie is really into being the "big sister" lately. She constantly tries to make her sister laugh!
Friday night Mimi and Poppy took Aubrie and Kaitlyn to the movies so Michael & I felt like we ALMOST had the night to ourselves! We rented a movie and got pizza while Emma just entertained herself with her toys on the floor. It felt very strange! After the movie they brought the girls home and had to come in and give Emma some lovin'. It looks like she is saying, "Mom, can you believe that they went somewhere without ME!?"

Aubrie had a little virus for half the week and Friday was the first day she felt like herself, but by the time the movies were over she was feeling pretty worn out as you can tell by this pitiful expression here!
But she didn't feel too bad to love on big sister on her first day back with us!

Exciting news! Emma started using a sippy cup this week AND she also finally
got her first tooth!
See how excited she was about both accomplishments!

She is also getting enough hair to brush. She looks so sweet after her bath with her hair slicked over to the side. She is too much fun and I can't believe that she will be 8 months old in just a few days!

Prayer request

Some of you that check my blog faithfully have already gotten this message by email, but just in case, please pray for my friend, Cheryl. Last week, she learned that she was most likely miscarrying her first pregnancy. Yesterday she went to have some blood work to check her HCG levels (to see if they baby had left her body completely) and learned that her levels are over 1000 which means she is still pregnant!!! This was great news, but there is a chance that her pregnancy is still abnormal, as she may have had an ectopic pregnancy (a fertilized egg has implanted outside the uterus, usually in the fallopian tubes). She goes Monday to have a sonogram to check for this. She is trying to relax, but she has been on a huge emotional roller coaster with finding out she was pregnant (after trying for several months), then learning she lost it, then finding out she may or may not have!!! Please keep her and Zach in your prayers!!! Thanks!

Bon Jovi & Chris Daughtry

Monday night Michael and I went to Dallas to see an awesome concert - Chris Daughtry &
Jon Bon Jovi! I have LOVED Bon Jovi since like Kindergarten. I was so excited! We've had the tickets since early February. It was both of our Valentine's Day presents, plus Michael's bday present! We still spent more on the tickets than we would have for those 3 gifts, but oh well - it was well worth it! We were 10th row from the stage on the floor, but my camera still didn't do very well. Here is Daughtry, who was my pick for American Idol a couple of seasons ago!
LOVE HIM!
Here's a couple of shots of my childhood heart throb!

Another HUGE fan of Bon Jovi is my lifelong friend, Jamilyn (in the middle). We were friends growing up and then roommates in college at ACU. The other girl is our friend that we met while in Abilene - Shea.
Here is Michael and I at Hoffbreau's Steakhouse before the concert. We were talking after this picture was taken about the fact that there is not ONE picture of just the two of us on this blog.
Waiting for the concert to start!
Last weekend, Michael and some guys from church went on a 4 wheeler trip in Broken Bow. A few of the wives decided to have a day together with the kids. Here is Aubrie watching Alvin and the Chipmunks with her friend Grayson. Look how they are both sitting! Too funny!

We made a girls' outing to Walmart ofcourse and Aubrie was so happy that she got to do not one, but 2 of her favorite things - ride the horsie AND get a sucker!

At Walmart we found these precious shoes for Emma. They are THE tiniest flip flops I have ever seen!
This one is blurry, but I thought it was potentially a good pic of the girls with Mimi.

Family Fun!

Aren't you impressed?! Two posts in the same week! Sunday night we didn't have church b/c our Family Life Group met at lunch, so we decided to take the kids up to Aikin's playground. Here is the McCarter caravan!

Aubrie and Kaitlyn on the bridge! Aubrie has to do everything big sissy does!

Silly Daddy!

Yummy stroller straps!
Don't they look alike here?

We could NOT get this girl out of the swing!

One of the main reasons we went is to try and get Kaitlyn to learn to ride her bike without training wheels.

And she did it! We were so proud!

We called her mom, Nanna, and little brother to come and witness this big accomplishment! Aubrie was so excited to see Brayden!
I thought it would be neat for Kaitlyn to have a picture of herself with all 3 of her siblings.
3 out of 4 looking at the camera ain't bad!

Ofcourse Aubrie and Brayden had to take their turns on the bike!

Look how she's cuttin' those eyes at me!

Bye, bye!
